ALERT: ASSEMBLING THE GREATEST CLASSIC ROCK COVER BAND EVER!!!

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY as the eligibility for this band has VERY HIGH STANDARDS!!!

I am a professional pianist/keyboardist/vocalist who has not been in my own live band since 1983; however I have "sat in" with live bands over the many years. I've been more of a solo artist in the Lehigh Valley and Philly, NJ and NYC since 1986 doing covers and originals, sometimes working in duos or trios, but staying away from the rigors of the "LIVE BAND" scenario for various reasons--the lack of good money being one--(unless you are with a great agency and play 6 nights a week from Florida to Pennsylvania or New York), the long hours, the endless band breakups--you all are aware of the drama of rock and roll....NEVERTHELESS--every time I go see a good live band I cannot ignore the "SEXINESS" of it--though I know some of these bands will divide $400.00 between them and their sound guy at the end of the night--it is still a SEXY thing to be in a band--the ladies still crowd the stage, dance the night away...the guys still yell "Freebird" and lift their lighters--there is just nothing like the rush of being in a really good band that can entertain a crowd. SO WITH THAT SAID--25 years after leaving my last band--I'm going to put one together. One other reason for this is having to watch mediocre bands playing incorrect bass notes or chords, yet still working 4 nights a week despite glaring errors in their musical structure. Putting up with bad vocal harmonies or the lack thereof--singers who truly cannot sing...I can go on and on...So it brings me to announcing what I'm trying to assemble here...as stated in my subject line for this ad--

I AM ASSEMBLING THE GREATEST CLASSIC ROCK COVER BAND EVER!!!

Am I being daringly presumptuous? Perhaps--but I'd like to set the bar VERY HIGH and see who is out there who can confidently meet me there...
I AM ASSEMBLING A VERY SPECIFIC KIND OF BAND--and therefore from the start I shall be weeding out those that that do not fit into my vision--here it is:

MISSION STATEMENT:
I AM SEEKING STARS ON THEIR INSTRUMENTS AND VOCALS!! What I mean by this is that you are considered the BEST lead guitarist, bass player, rhythm guitarist, drummer and keyboardist among your peers and fans--IN ADDITION--YOU MUST BE A GREAT SINGER NO MATTER WHAT INSTRUMENT YOU PLAY!! THE TYPE OF BAND I'M ASSEMBLING WILL BE A "ROCK SHOW BAND" THAT CAN PLAY THE CASINOS BUT ALSO PLAY MAINSTREAM ROCK CLUBS IN Philadelphia, The Lehigh Valley, New Jersey, and NYC primarily. I AM LITERALLY LOOKING FOR MUSICIANS WHO CAN ALSO DO VARIOUS VOCAL IMPERSONATIONS OF FAMOUS ARTISTS--below I've listed a ficticious example of what I'm saying:

DRUMMER JOE: Joe plays a Tama double bass set and can tackle Rush/Kansas timing and still funk out believably on other material; Joe does striking vocal impersonations of Don Henley, Phil Collins and even Ringo Starr(and other artists who are not drummers as well).

KEYBOARDIST STEVE: Steve reminds you of a Steve Walsh or Keith Emerson or even Rick Wakeman with his bank of keyboards at his waiting disposal--he can play Karnevil #9 blindfolded and his vocal prowess for Billy Joel, Elton John, Steve Walsh and other rock lead singers will dazzle you all!

...I think you have the idea--the same can be written for every other instrument...therefore this band will be able to do sets of various artists somewhat in a tribute format--whatever vocal magic is brought to the table by each musician will be utilized and showcased within the band. I personally do a DEAD ON David Bowie and so there will be a set--and perhaps even a casino show of simply "BOWIE"(so if you're a fan of his and can play his stuff let me know!)--other artists I do are Billy Joel, Elton John, a very convincing Jon Anderson of YES, a very good Jim Morrison, and can more or less morph my voice into any number of others from Lennon/McCartney to the Bee Gees...some names I have for the band are CLASS(ic) REUNION(a play on "Class Reunion" with "Classic"--the idea is most of the songs we select will bring back memories for those in the Class of 1969 and on)...also "SPECTACLE" is another idea as it would embrace the "Spectacle" the band brings to the stage of not just being another "cover band" but a "SHOW BAND" that is known for doing an incredible Bowie show--or Yes show, or Van Halen show--WHATEVER YOU BRING TO THE TABLE will be considered...
THIS IS SIMPLY STAGE ONE RIGHT NOW--I will schedule some auditions perhaps even at a public venue and rent a stage in the coming weeks--I'll have different musicians play with each other and observe how you all interact--I'll have certain songs I'll need you to have prepared so I can sing along with them and see who "cuts the mustard"--SOUND EXCITING???!! I want a combination of guys that are either:

1. ACTUALLY IN A BAND RIGHT NOW LOOKING FOR SOMETHING WITH THIS KIND OF EXCITEMENT POTENTIAL--or:

2. THE GUY WHO'S BEEN SITTING IN HIS BASEMENT FOR 20 YEARS KNOWING HE CAN PLAY ALL THIS STUFF AND SING LIKE AN ANGEL BUT CAN'T STAND THE BANDS HE SEES OUT ON THE CIRCUIT--he feels like a misfit because he plays like Steve Howe or Eddie Van Halen but can't find a band to meet his level of professionalism.....

HERE'S WHAT I NEED NOW: Send me a link to YOUR website--or band's website, or your Myspace page--whatever--I HAVE TO BELIEVE ANYONE WORTH GETTING THIS GIG HAS AT LEAST THAT--some sort of website presence. If there is an mp3 on that site of you playing--all the better. TELL ME WHY YOU ARE THE BEST AT YOUR INSTRUMENT--AND TELL ME THE VOCALISTS YOU COVER...****what is essential as well is that you are a great "harmonizer"--the guy who sings Steve Perry will also sing the backup vocal on another song with equal aplomb--get the idea??? I will tell you all more about me if you have been selected for the final auditions. The format for the band will be as follows:

MYSELF: Keyboards/lead vocals/backing vocals and front man at times;
2nd KEYBOARDIST: Keyboards/lead vocals/backing vocals and perhaps front man while I play keyboards;
LEAD GUITARIST: w/lead and rhythm potential, lead and backing vocals, perhaps front man as well while another band mate covers guitar;
RHYTHM GUITARIST: (same credentials as "Lead Guitarist")
BASS PLAYER: Lead vocals and backing vocal capability
DRUMMER: Lead vocals and backing vocal capability

...the musical range I expect from everyone is the ability to do the progressive rock era such as YES/KANSAS/STYX/GENESIS/RUSH/PINK FLOYD along with DAVID BOWIE/THE DOORS/LED ZEPPELIN/THE STONES/THE BEATLES/THE EAGLES and a gazillion other groups--in other words--you guys might play in Paul Schaeffer's band for Letterman--no song would "throw you"--and you'd thoroughly enjoy the challenge of playing with other artists who could actually pull off such challenging epics or even "Brown Eyed Girl"(imagine the easier songs being played by dudes that are so brilliant that it brings renewed vigor to those stale Top 40 classics!)...

SO RESPOND TO THIS AD AND I'LL BE IN TOUCH--btw, if you're already connected to a band that simply needed this extra component I'm introducing--that can certainly be considered. I may even put together a FEW BANDS and manage/produce them and get them booked out on the circuit. Thanks for reading my long "missive" and all the best to you!!!!!!!!
