You are:
- an AVID reader (you will be doing a LOT of reading... almost exclusively)
- dependable, consistent (for at least 8-10 hrs a week)
- not a stick in the mud

We are:
- Avid readers too! (we have so much in common) (we specialize in fiction -- although sometimes some really interesting pop culture NF will sneak its way in). PLEASE be interested in contemporary young adult literature.
- Here Monday - Thursday
- Mostly not sticks in the mud

Please send us a letter of interest... Include your current position or education, why you'd like an internship where you sit and read, talk about books and learn about the publishing industry -- and most importantly, what was the last book you read and loved. (Hint: bonus points if it isn't something you read for school; extra bonus points if it was published in the past year.)

No pay -- but there will be the occassional pizza party, networking opportunities and at least one field trip to NYC to see the beast up close and personal towards the end of the semester.

We'll be doing interview for the next few weeks and into the new year until we fill all five slots.

Requirements:
+ Must have an excellent grasp of American culture and colloquialism as well as English spelling and punctuation rules
+ Ability to handle accents, background noise, and difficult audio at times highly desired
+ Willingness to follow varying formatting instructions and take the time to look up medical terminology
+ Broadband Internet access (required for expedited downloading purposes)
+ Familiarity with downloading from FTP sites
+ Experience with free transcription program Express Scribe
+ Foot pedal (highly recommended though not required)
