2004 BMW X5 (E53)
157,XXX Miles
3.0L (I6)
Owned 8 Years

Good
- engine and trans run/shift strong
- beast in the snow
- southern CA car until 2021 (ZERO rust)
- interior and exterior are 7/10 - it is still presentable
- Maintenance was always performed on-time - synthetic oil changes every 5K, other fluids swapped out on appropriate intervals during my ownership. Repairs made when necessary.
- PA State Inspection just completed, good through June 2025.
- Within the last month: replaced water pump, FR control arm/bushings, and oil change.

Bad
- I recently noticed a puff of white smoke from the exhausts at start-up. Although the X5 still runs/drives just fine, it will likely need a head gasket replacement in the future. Currently, the car can be driven away without hesitation.
- Front Passenger Door will not open - a door handle carrier will be included in sale.
- Oil Pan Gasket needs replacement - Does not affect drivability; however, oil level needs to be monitored/topped off every 2K miles.

If I had the ability/time to make repairs, I would keep this X5 for years to come. You will be hard-pressed to find another one around here with a body/undercarriage cleaner than this one.
