SPICA TC-50 speakers - $350 (Macungie)

This pair is the first generation with matching serial numbers. They are in very good to excellent condition. I changed out the cheap plastic binding posts with high-quality gold metal binding posts. They sound amazing! I am including very high-quality 24” metal Target stands, exactly the height and stability that these speakers require. The Spica TC-50 utilize a 1" dome tweeter and 6.5" heavily-coated paper cone woofer in a sealed, compact composite wood cabinet. The steep baffle assists with time alignment and the baffle is coated in 1/2" thick wool felt to absorb any unwanted high frequency reflections. The first-order crossover network also contributes to this system's performance with a simplistic and easy-to-drive design. Vocals and imaging are outstanding far beyond their size.
I have made the following improvements:
- Woofers were tested for correct specs, then I added my 3-step bass improvements to them.
- Tweeters were replaced with better, modern silk dome tweeters for improved sound.
- I rebuilt the crossovers with new capacitors, new resistors, new gold 5-way binding posts, and new internal wires.
- I added internal bracing as there was none there originally. Tightens bass and improves performance.
- I refinished the wood cabinets with 3 coats of danish oil. Grills were cleaned, then I added new badges to them.
