House Plant, Fuchsia ‘Gartenmeister Bonstedt” aka Honeysuckle Fuchsia - $5 (Allentown, PA 18103)

Latin name: Fuchsia triphylla
Cultivar: ‘Gartenmeister Bonstedt’
Common name: Honeysuckle Fuchsia
This tender tropical develops into an upright,
multi-stemmed plant. Clusters of dangling, red-
orange trumpets will be produced throughout
the warm months if the plant is kept outside in
HALF SHADE conditions.
Hummingbirds will come for these flowers
due to their color and tubular shape.
Stems are dark and foliage has purple veining
on top and solid purple on the reverse. When plant
comes back inside for winter protection, it gets cut
back dramatically and placed in a cool but non-
freezing location.
Bloom photos were taken in my garden last summer.
Specimen for sale is in photos 3,4,5,6,7. Pot contains
8 individual rooted cuttings and pot can be split in
half if you wanted to share it.
Recommend upsizing the pot soon to allow the
plant to gain size and possibly bloom this year.
Acclimate gradually to outside conditions of heat,
wind and weather. Half Shade placement will
prevent scorching. Mine gets only morning sun.
