Succulent House Plant Cuttings - (10)
Latin Name: Selenicereus anthonyanus
Common Names: Fishbone Cactus,
Rick Rack Cactus, Zig Zag Cactus.
Bright light needed year round.
A South facing window or a position
below hanging fluorescents will help
this plant thrive. If taking it outside in
summer, morning sun only is best to
avoid scorching. Do not expose it to
temperatures below 40 degrees F.
Parent plant is seen in photos 5, 6, and 7.
Growth habit is exuberant and a wide berth
will be needed eventually.
Actual cuttings for sale are in photos 1 - 4.
Longest ones are 9 to 10", shortest one is 4.5".
Method for rooting these cuttings:
Use a terra cotta pot with drainage holes
and a diameter of under 6 inches.
Fill the pot with moistened fast draining
soil mix, a combination of some sand or
gravel along with some rich soil.
Wait a day for the soil to dry out a bit, then
make holes to insert each cutting standing
up straight.
Add 3 skewers or chopsticks around the
edge of the pot. Use a string or wire looped
around these supports making a corral to
keep cuttings upright until roots are forming.
Resist overwatering until cuttings have roots
to take up the moisture because excessive
dampness without roots may result in rot.
Selling as a set of 10 cuttings for $5.00 cash.
