A 2.5 year old polled Jersey x Dexter cross (Belfair) born January 24, 2023 on our honestead to our mid-size Jersey family milk cow that produced up to 6 gallons of high cream content milk a day during her lactation peak. Her father is a Dexter that was specifically chosen for his milky/meaty lineage as well.

She is the most in-your-pocket heifer. She will moo to you in greeting when you approach her or simply drive up your driveway. She loves people and she is very well-mannered. It took only about an hour to finish halter and lead training her. You can go out in the middle of the field, call her name, and she’ll come running up to you and let you put the halter on and lead her wherever you want. She is trained for a stanchion and will let you brush her all over.

Her mother had A1/A2 milk proteins when we had her tested. However, we have not performed any testing on this heifer. She is currently open. She has very strong, consistent, (vocal) heats every 21 days, highlighting her fertility. Her last heat took place September 1, 2025. We have never tried breeding her because we just didn’t need another calf running around the farm. She is on the mid-size mini side, so only small bulls would work for her.

I was there at her birth and have hand raised her myself for her whole life with the expectation that she would be our future milk cow because her mother produced way more milk than our family needed, so I thought that by crossing her with a Dexter, we’d have a more manageable volume for our small family. (6 gallons a day was way more than I needed for my butter, cheese, yogurt, and kefir needs!) However, we are actually listing our farm for sale at the end of the month because we have the opportunity to return back home out West, and we won’t be able to take her with us. If you’re interested, we also have a gentle longhorn steer that is ready for the freezer any day if you want to keep her bonded companion.

We can haul her to you within an hour of our house, if need be.

Please reach out to me for more details and a chance to meet her. Thanks!

$1,950 or best offer; we’d work with the right family since we really want to see her go to a nice place.
