Help with activities of daily living (ADLs)
ADLs include things like helping someone get around the house, eat a meal, brush their teeth, use the restroom, or bathe.
2. Companionship
One of the most rewarding parts of a Caregiver job is getting to know your clients -- you'll listen to their stories, share about your life, learn together, and sometimes even attend appointments and outings together.
3. Follow a care plan & document care
Each client will have a care plan, created by your Manager. It will outline a client's specif care needs and how you should document what you do each day.
4. Maintain a tidy environment
An important part of a home care job is helping your clients maintain a tidy living space. Caregivers help with common chores like making beds, sweeping the floor, and cleaning out the fridge.
5. Transportation
Some caregivers drive while others may not. However, many caregivers take their clients to appointments, grocery shopping, and sometimes to even attend fun social events.
