Here is the original transmission from my ’47 Ford Tudor which had the 239A flathead V8. I bought the car for $5 in 1959 (blown engine) when I was 14 and kept it until the 1990s. It had a Chevy drivetrain by then so I kept the original transmission. I went through it about that time and freshened it up, including synchronizers, seals, bearings, etc. It was never used after that and was lubricated and stored – always covered and inside my storage building.
It comes with complete side cover including shift levers and forks, throw-out bearing and actuating shaft, U joint, and complete U joint cover and ball cap assembly.
The stamped serial number is * 899A2109014 *. The “8” is stamped on top of the leading “star” but you can make it out. The “9”s are the newer style stampings, showing that the trans may be considered an early ’48. It always worked well and should be ready to go as is. However: This is a used part which has not been tested since the rebuild and carries no warranty and no returns accepted.
