Building by hand from scratch my version of the original Batmobile. Every part of the car has been either cut chopped altered or modified. I’m doing all the work myself in a one car garage with a handful of basic tools. The car when finished will be 36 inches high ground to top of the roof. The whole car has been shortened 52 inches. The motor moved back in the car 20 inches. The rear is the stock rear made solid and narrowed by removing half shafts and making a tubing control arms to keep everything straight and strong. Motor is a 350 completely reworked and a Turbo 400 also completely reworked with 3500 stall converter. The Zoomie Headers I made from a set of stainless side pipe headers. I changed the front frame and altered suspension. Frame and wheelbase was shortened 8 inches and frame narrowed so body could be channeled over the frame to get desired height. Corvettes from the factory have a 47 inch roof height. Roofs been chopped 3 inches in the back and 5 inches in the front to give roof a radical rake. made rear window to resemble a 63 Split Window. The fins and taillights resemble the 57 Ford and the the front end that you see in the pictures is my version of a 41-42 Willys but it has some Corvette in the look. The front end is a mold that I’m making and when finished I will use that to make a new lighter and stronger one piece front end. It will be a tilt when finished. As a kid growing up in the 60’s I went to the drag strips with my uncles and the cars at the drag strip at that time were 3 of my favorite. Willys, Split Window Corvette and the 57 Ford that’s why I chose these cars to build into the Batmobile. The car when completely finished for show will be Candy Apple Red with Gold Metal Flake and lots of Clear maybe even some other colors of Flake decision for later. I want the car to sparkle like a Christmas Ball when finished. All the work you see plus everything else I did myself. All self taught and the best and only way to build a car is to do it yourself. That’s the fun of doing it. I hope you enjoy my build. Thank you for taking the time to read.
