Here is a Bear 40-900 Series Diagnostic Computer which we purchased when emissions testing first came to Pennsylvania. It is designed as both an engine analyzer and 4 gas emissions tester and we used it throughout that time. Pennsylvania emissions laws and cars changed and this tester no longer did the job. This machine will NOT work to analyze running issues on new cars nor be able to help diagnose present day emissions systems. It is being sold only as a vintage display piece or for someone using it exclusively for older vehicles of that time period.
It comes with all the leads (not pictured - they are stored in the cabinet) and a booklet. The monitor works but the analyzer portion will not always boot up, although the other functions (service tests, typewriter, utilities) do work. See the photo of the screen. There may be a bad connection at one of the boards in back - if they are unplugged and plugged back in, it will sometimes then successfully boot up the gas bench and analyzer itself.
It is a big, bulky and heavy item though it does roll well on its wheels. 46" wide, 75" to the top of the arm, 32" deep. Two shelves inside the cabinet are 22" deep. Very imposing for a tribute garage or car club. The overhead arm swivels out from the side to in front, has a working light, and is where all the leads plug in. Still has its printer and the calibration gas bottle under the lift up lid. Lots of storage in the underside cabinet. The light bulbs which light up the 2 panels flanking the monitor must be burned out - it looks cool when they are lit.
Local pickup only. We will not stop working in the shop to help you load it. Make sure you have the manpower and necessary transport and securing items to take it safely to a new home.
